VISIONARIES, SINCE DAY ONE
Flashback to the early 90’s. This area looked nothing like it does today: dilapidated rail yards weaving through abandoned buildings, a once-thriving hub of dreams and optimism left to decay by progress and economics.
Through a different lens, the grit becomes the gem.
In 1994, HOYT saw the potential. It would take work, investment, guts. Our plan injected and new life, new meaning, into today’s model of A-list urban renaissance. The Pearl District was born. Not from a single building, but from a bold collection of enterprise and meticulous intention.
The world took note. From the significant architecture, the diversity of thriving residential communities, creative cultures, shops and services, to the open expanses of gardens and parks—this is growth thoughtfully designed for tomorrow. A model others have built from.
The future of this an acclaimed place will mean more inspired action. More sustainability, more livability, more groundbreaking. And as always, more reinventing.
We were one of the originals. We’re also one of the first to be nationally recognized by leaders in energy efficient design. From the beginning, building responsibly has been instrumental to the HOYT ethos.
We care deeply about creating communities that are friendly to both people and the environment that sustains us.
From its artist and start-up community roots, to the innovative epitome of urban living that it’s become, HOYT is committed to setting new standards in sustainable, environmentally sound development. It’s been an exciting ride for HOYT and we look forward to what’s next.
